The end of 2024 is fast approaching and even though there have been many great games this year. What about next year? 2025 is looking like a very entertaining year for video games and in this article we will start it off with PlayStation and Xbox.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach
The original Death Stranding that came out in 2019 gave players a different perspective on how gamers can play video games like a movie. The original was praise for it direction in story, visuals and voice acting. It included elements that are quite similar to that of COVID-19, which was a big global crisis in 2020. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach continues that story with the reflection and concepts of that of the real world of events that would be base off of the events of COVID-19.
Base on the trailer, the main character Sam Porter Bridges will reprise his role by expanding the Chiral Network by making it a private organization. Also, some changes in gameplay includes the game having real-time terrain changes, which includes having random floodings, forest fires and earthquakes. This can cause structures in the game to be damaged affecting the game progression.
The game is set to release in 2025.
Doom: The Dark Ages
Doom: The Dark Ages will serve as a prequel to the already release Doom(2016). This game is set to be more darky and gritty compare to the previous games with the gameplay combat being mostly on the ground, the player can fight airborne as well by riding a dragon. Like previous Doom games, exploration plays a key role however, even though most sections in the game are linear in combat, the player can return to previous areas to explore and discover new materials. The plot will be about Doom Slayer fighting against the forces of hell.
The game is set to be release sometime in 2025.
Grand Theft Aut0 VI
Fans have been waiting for a new GTA for years with many theories and speculations about the story, gameplay and characters. Finally this year, Rockstar gave us a brief glimpse of the world of Grand Theft Auto VI. Grand Theft Auto VI will be base in Vice City following the character Lucia who has a male partner who she does heists with. Like previous entries, the game will make fun of American culture, but in this one it will display a heavy basis on social media and memes. There is little information about the game now, but I’ll be sure to give you updates as soon as more information is available.
Set release date is Q3/Q4 of 2025.
Fable (2025)
First announced in the Xbox Showcase in 2020, this Fable is expected to be a reboot of the series. The game is set for a new generation of players by updating the gameplay and visuals effects to have a more realistic look to the game than the previous entries. However, beside the trailer, there is not much information about this game. Will updated you guys if anything comes up. As of right now it’s set to be release in 2025.
Ghost of Yotei
Announced at the PlayStation State of Play 2024, the Ghost of Yotei is a sequel to the Ghost of Tsushima that came out in 2020. Although it’s a sequel, the story is not directly tied to the Ghost of Tsushima, but take place around Mount Yotei in 1603. The main character will be name Atsu who is a female samurai that will be set 329 years after the events of the first game with the theme of vengeance. There’s no official release date for the game, but it is set for a 2025 release date.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Monster Hunter Wilds is a direct successor to Monster Hunter: World, which will feature players playing as hunters who travel through the Forbidden Lands. In the Forbidden Lands the land is unpopulated and fill with monsters that the player either kills or capture for their own benefits. The rewards will involve monster parts and resources that players can craft to build new armor, weapons and more to fight stronger monsters in the game. The game is vast in a opening world environment allowing players to travel to other villages to either cook, fix gears or craft new gear. It also has cooperative play allowing four players to join you in the hunt to fight many other creatures. The game is set for a February 28, 2025 release date.
Hell is Us
Hell is Us was teased in 2022! Now that it’s 2024 we finally get a official gameplay trailer of this game. Hell is Us is a third person action adventure game that is set in a complex world that gives players a challenge on not having detail maps, quest markers and aid altogether. In this game, the player get the chance to explore their surroundings by exploring the unknown as the environment in which the player is in plays a key role on certain clues that could be in the game. Also, NPCs in the game play an important role as well by giving very crucial information that the players can take advantage of. The game is all about exploration and having the players immerse in the world that is created in Hell is Us. It doesn’t have a official release date yet, but it plan to come out sometime in 2025. Dynasty Warriors Origins
Dynasty Warriors Origins like the previous entries is a hack and slash game that will give a new take on the series by focusing on a nameless hero that players will use to follow the three kingdoms in China. Origins gameplay consist of giving units in your party commands to attack other individuals. The player can also swap perspective of other battlefield temporarily if certain conditions were met in battle. By controlling the protagonist, the player will meet certain characters that will either become your friend or your enemy. The game has a set release date on January 17, 2025.
