The end of the year is approaching however, we still have some big releases of games coming up this month and in December! Here’s the list of games to look forward to before 2026!
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
After the highly acclaimed Metroid Prime 3, fans were eager to get more of the Metroid Prime series. Prime 4 was announced at E3 2017 and was originally to be develop by Bandai Namco Studios however, development moved back to Retro Studios. Nintendo decided that the project needed to be restart as they were unhappy with previous results.
In 2024, Nintendo released a trailer showcasing the gameplay of Prime 4, which is similar to that of other Metroid Prime games however, in the second trailer there was some interesting idea implemented in the game. Samus is on the planet called Viewros, in Viewros there are new enemies and a new species called the Lamorn. The trailer shows that Samus also gains psychic powers that will play a big role in the gameplay. The game is scheduled to come out on December 4.
Octopath Traveler 0
Octopath Traveler 0 allows the player to recruit up 30 party members and allows the player to form parties of 8 characters. The game feature a custom protagonist that witnesses his hometown get burn down, the player must rebuild his hometown by obtaining materials throughout the game.
The town can have up to 500 buildings when playing on the PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 version while the Nintendo Switch version allows up to 250 building and the PlayStation 4 version allows up to 400 buildings. The game is described as a HD-2D art style that resemble the 90s RPG games with dungeon exploring, side quest, boss fights and more. The game is scheduled for December 4 release.
Let It Die: Inferno
This game is a sequel to Let It Die that was released in 2016! In this installment the story revolves around the player taking the role of a raider that goes in the search of the Eye of the Reaper. The Eye of the Reaper is said to have great power to rule the world.
The landscape takes place in Hell’s Gate, which is a massive chasm distorting time and space. In Hell’s Gate, there’s creatures that come from this hostile environment that will attack the main character during anytime of the game. Game is to be release on December 3.
Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment
The next installment in the Hyrule Warriors series deals with Princess Zelda accidently teleporting to a time in Hyrule that has her secret stone. In this time, she must assist King Rauru, Queen Sonia and six sages to stop Ganondorf from invading the land of Hyrule. On April 2, this game was announced during the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal showing Princess Zelda as a playable character. The game feature the normal hack and slash gameplay that it’s known for however, during the second trailer there was a new construct machine that is to be use, but little information was given. The game is to come out on November 6.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
Set in the year 2035, the story in Call of Duty Black Ops 7 follows a team of agents led by David Mason in the aftermath of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 ten years later. The game will also include a multiplayer section like previous entries called Zombies mode. The game was announced and reveal at Gamescom on August 19, which showcased gameplay elements that are similar to other Call of Duty games except that in Black Ops 7 the player can wall jump off certain walls terrain while traveling through the mall. The first main campaign comes out on November 14 however, there will be another campaign release in the near future called “Astra Malorum”
Kirby Air Riders
After more than 20 years Kirby Air Ride gets a sequel called Kirby Air Riders for the Nintendo Switch 2. Kirby Air Riders allows the player to select 20 playable Kirby universe characters who all have copying abilities and all have unique special abilities. The game includes three game modes that were previously in Kirby Air Ride, which are Air Ride, City Trail and Top Ride. All of these modes have been expanded and feature online and multiplayer modes that allow up to 16 players to play together. Kirby Air Riders was announced on April 2 by the creator of the Kirby series Masahiro Sakurai. The idea was conceived in 2021 and Sakurai teased it in 2024 on his youtube channel as his top secret projects he’s developing. The soundtrack will also be composed by Shogo Sakai and Noriyuki Iwadare who worked on games like Super Smash Bros and Kid Icarus: Uprising. The game is scheduled to be release on November 20th.
Terminator 2D: No Fate
Terminator 2D: No Fate takes the stories of the original Terminator movie and Judgment Day in a pixel-art action scroller style. The game lets you play Sarah Connor and the T-800 to take on the T-1000 to stop Skynet’s plans to destroy humanity. The game will have multiples endings base on the scenarios that you chose along with music score from the movies themselves. The game is schedule to come out on November 26th.
