Some Games to get during the Holiday Season

The end of the year is almost here and you know what that mean right? It’s almost time for the Christmas season to start.  You all may be wondering what games should we get for the holiday season whether it for your kids or for yourself. So here is a brief article on some games I think are worth getting during the holiday season.

5. Mario Party Superstars

The game suitable for all ages and is a great family games to enjoy for the holiday. Mario Party Superstars is more like a revision from the Nintendo 64 Mario Parties as it will provide five main board maps from those games. Some of the recurring boards include “Peach Birthday Cake” from Mario Party 1, “Space Land” from Mario Party 2 and “Woody Woods” from Mario Party 3. Two of the other boards remain a mystery, but hopefully will be great as well.  It’ll also remake hundred minigames from the past Mario Parties. So basically a pack in one Nintendo 64 Mario Party experience for the Switch. The game is available on October 29 of this year on the Nintendo Switch.

4. Dying Light 2

Looking for a survival horror game for the Christmas season? Dying Light 2 like the first one take place in a post apocalyptic zombie infested open world. The setting takes place twenty years after the first one pitting the player as a new protagonist called Aiden Caldwell. The player has to rely on different reaction commands like climbing ledges, sliding, leaping off edges and more to navigate across the city.

Zombies like the first game in general are very slow and non aggressive during the day, but at night they become more aggressive and dangerous. However, the most dangerous part about the game is the different decision you will have to make as it affect the story’s outcome. Also, it opens up different seal off areas in the city making it possible to do other playthroughs. The game comes out in December 7 of this year on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Series S.

3. Shin Megami Tensei V

Looking to fight some demons during the holiday season? Then, Shin Megami Tensei V might be the game for you as you are pitted in a post apocalyptic modern day Tokyo where you will fight and fuse many different types of demons. You play as a high school student living a ordinary life that accidently wanders into the world called “Da’at.” Fusing with a mysterious man Aogami and becoming a Nahobino allows the main character to fight gods and monsters. The game is set for release in November 11 in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. November 12 in North America, Europe and Australia of this year for the Nintendo Switch. Hee-Ho!!

2. Metroid Dread

If you’re a Metroid fan then you know this is the game to looks forward during the holiday season. It not a Metroid Prime game, but it has it own charm and seeing a new 2D Metroid game finally since Metroid Fusion is cool. In Samus latest adventure you will have fight against the EMMI robots that dispatch on the planet ZDR. The game focus on stealth more than the other games. Samus will have to move slowly to reduce noise, camouflage herself with phantom cloak and hide most of the time. If the EMMI notice Samus, the player will have a short time react. React slowly and it’s game over. The game is set to be release on October 8 of this year along with the Nintendo Switch Oled console.

1? Superman 64

That’s right, Superman 64 was release in 1999, but it still holds up and is a great Christmas gift for your child. The impressive graphic and gameplay make it a must buy instantly………….just kidding.

1. Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5 will be set in the open world setting in Mexico. The map in the game will be incredibly big allowing players to explore the terrain of Mexico. Players can also compete in multiplayer racing and do campaign mode as well. The game also has a weather system where it can rain and have other storms affect the environments like the jungle areas. Also, there will be many other minigames for the player to enjoy if they want to take a break from the campaign. The game is set for release on November 9 of this year only on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.

Now I’m sure they’re many games that are going to come out this year that I have not listed. So feel free to leave your feedback and hope you will have a great time shopping for these games later on when they’re release. Now here are some honorable mentions.
