Gamescom is a four day event where gamers around the world can play demos of unrelease games(similar to E3). Although it has started a few days ago, lots of games were already announced. So I’ll do my best to cover most games that were announced, but please check out the show if you are curious to see more.
Black Myth: Zhong Kui
Inspired by a Chinese folklore, Black Myth: Zhong Kui will be the second installment to the Black Myth series. Game story is described to be about catching ghost as Zhong Kui wanders between Hell and Earth. The game is also to be release on PC and mainline consoles. No release date was announced as of now.
Resident Evil Requiem
More information was revealed for the newly anticipated Resident Evil. The game focuses on the new protagonist name Gracie Ashcroft who has no field experience and eventually goes to a desolate quarantined ruins of Raccoon City. The story is set 30 years after the events of Resident Evil 3 and just like other Resident Evils, it’ll have a monster follow her during the game. This monster will go through walls and ceiling, but can be easily distracted if the player throw an empty glass bottle found throughout the game. Game is to come out on February 27, 2026.
World of Tanks 2.0 Update
The World of Tanks is getting a complete update that includes brand new Tier XL tanks, completely redesign Hangar and UI, a story driven PvE made with a new map, rebalance of hundreds of vehicles and more!! The update will be available on September 3rd of this year.
Toxic Commando
John Carpenter is collaborating with Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive to make a first person Zombie shooter game. The plot is in the near future where an experiment is conducted to harness the power of the Earth’s core. Sadly, the experiment ends in disaster as they release a being called the Sludge God. This being begins transforming the area into scum and living being to monsters. With things falling apart, the person behind the experiment hires highly train mercenaries to take care of the situation. The game is said to be release in early 2026.
Everwind
Everwind is a game that looks very similar to Minecraft. It’s a sandbox Survival genre first person game that allows the player to build bases on a flying island-ship, gather materials, create loot and fight to explore the undiscover world. Game is currently in development and is slated for a December 31, 2026 release date.
Cinder City
Cinder City is a tactical shooter that is set in a post- apocalyptic alternative Seoul where the player fights with beings called the abominations that threaten humanity. They’re also looking for their daughter in the process. The game also has a multiplayer option where the player battle against massive mechas. Game is set for 2026 release.
La Divina Commedia
La Divina Commedia is a dark fantasy ARPG that is inspired by the famous opera of the same name by Dante Alighieri. The game feature a hack and slash combat where the Divine Comedy has been corrupted, plunging humanity into chaos. Players get to explore the circle of Hell to customize weapons and armor to battle demons. Also, the player has to navigate through different dungeons by getting influenced with the Sin Alignment system that is tied to the Seven Deadly Sins.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight is described as a love letter to Batman fans by having several references to other Batman films, TV shows and comic books. The game will have an original story that will take place in a more action adventure style gameplay. The player is allow to control up to seven characters, which is Batman, Jim Gordon, Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman and Talia al Ghul. Each characters will have a unique set of abilities that will help the player solve many puzzles. The game is set for 2026 release on the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X and Series S.
Swords of Legends
Swords of Legends is new single player action RPG base on Chinese mythology. Players will will be in control of Si Pan, an underworld enforcer who returns to the world of the living to help bring souls to the next life. Fighting revolves around supernatural beings that require the use of mystical techniques, divine artifacts and powerful weapons. The game plays very similar to other souls games of the same genre, but as for now we have very little information about game with no release date announced.
Silent Hill f
As Konami was creating Silent Hill f. they felt that the series became too westernized. So in this Silent Hill game they made it hundred percent Japanese horror. The player control a character name Hinako Shimizu who’s a high student who has to navigate through the town cover in fog to solve puzzles and fight unknown monsters. The game is set to be release on September 25, 2025.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is the first major Metal Gear game since Metal Gear Survive back in 2018. The game was announced in 2023 and is a direct remake of Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater, which was released in 2004. The gameplay still remain similar to that of the original game however, it introduces two modes that the player can choose when playing the game. One mode is called “The New Style Mode” which allows the player to play the game like the recent entries. Then, there’s a mode called “Legacy Style” which retains the gameplay to the classic Metal Gear Solid games having the overhead view gameplay and fixed camera view. Game is set for August 28th release date for the PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S.
Kirby Air Riders
Kirby Air Riders focuses on the player ability to steer, boost and utilizing the ability to absorb enemies’ powers. The game will have 16 playable characters to choose from all having the unique copying ability. City Trails will also make a return as it’ll be expanded to have online features up to 16 people and local multiplayer. Even though the game was announced on the Nintendo Direct on August 16th, at Gamescom there’s a player demo available that people can play before the game comes out. Game is set for a November 2oth 2025 release date.
